Most Holy Father,

Christopher Gray, a deacon of the Diocese of Salt Lake City, who is to be promoted to the holy priesthood by His Excellency the Diocesan Bishop John Charles Wester, humbly implores a plenary Indulgence of Your Holiness to the faithful who, free from all attachment to sin, each purified by sacramental Confession, and strengthened by the Most Sacred Eucharist, and also pouring out their prayers for Your Holiness, devotedly attend the first spoken Masses in the presence of the people: a. in the Cathedral Church of Salt Lake City, under the titulus of St. Mary Magdalene (twice on June 30, 2013); b. in the Abbatial Church of the Cistercians of the Strict Observance under the titulus of the Most Holy Trinity in the the city of Huntsville (July 1, 2013); c. in the Conventual Church of the Discalced Carmelites under the titulus of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in the city of Holladay (July 2, 2013).

The Apostolic Penitentiary, by the mandate of the Supreme Pontiff, gladly agrees to the proposed requests. Thus the faithful may always be encouraged to bring into the acting of their lives the supernatural virtues, particularly Faith, Hope, and Love, and strengthen their communion with the Roman Pontiff, to the foundation of the visible unity of the whole Catholic Church. Anything to the contrary not withstanding.
